Blue Skies

There is a particular quality of light that happens just before things lift. Not bright exactly. More like the air thinning, the colour shifting from grey into something that has blue in it, and then more blue, and then without quite knowing when it happened, you are looking at sky.

Blue Skies is not a weather report. It is a disposition. The belief, fragile and necessary, that things can open up that there is space on the other side of whatever is pressing close right now.

I wanted a name that felt like an exhale. Simple enough to hold without effort, layered enough to mean something different each time you say it. Blue Skies has been a song, an idiom, a quiet wish given between people who do not always know how else to say it. That felt right.

The watercolour background began as a sky study, cool and still, the kind of blue that belongs to early morning before the heat arrives. Then the holographic element went across the middle, a sweep of iridescent light that moves as you move the card, pink to green to white depending on the angle. It is not a rainbow exactly. It is what a rainbow might leave behind after it has gone.

The flowers are blue-grey mulberry paper are layered into a dense cluster at the base. They sit the way a crowd stands in a field, facing the same direction, waiting for the same thing. Fuller than a garden bloom, quieter than a celebration.

Blue Skies is a meaningful greeting card for the kinds of moments that do not have a named occasion. The friend who is getting through something. The person who has been carrying more than they let on. The one who needs to be told, without it being said too plainly, that you have been thinking of them and that you believe things will ease.
